The process of creating my painting "The Golden Tree" is shown here. Creating a large painting in this medium presents its own challenges, the big one being getting quantities of hot wax from the hot palette to the canvas before it hardens on my brush! A little speed is required. I've posted a series of photos below to show how I built up the painting in a series of many layers.
You can see that I have added a few more layers, fusing each layer with my travel iron and now have added some white.
Lots more thinking about sky!
Well, I wasn't quite done. But now, maybe I am. Hard to say.
So I wasn't done after all. I ended up not loving this painting, except for the crow, so I scraped it down. That was lots of fun. I'll try to re-use the wax on another painting!
